Be a Positive Cause to what is Created
Dear Friends and Family,
Very often in our world today, we notice that something is a little off. Humanity, at many turns, seems a little less than humane. How can we deepen our intentional co-creation with Spirit to include the well-being of all life?
For the whole month of January, we are looking at some of the stories of Robin Wall-Kimmerer’s book, Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Women, Scientific, and the Teaching of Plants. Last week’s story, Cause and Effect, in the Sweetgrass, spoke of things learned from the elders of the Potawatomi People. Robin speaks of lessons learned from her grandmother in her childhood as she and her grandmother picked Sweetgrass, to pick the grass with love and give thanks to the Spirit who provided it. To tend to it with love.
We can learn so much from indigenous people: to treat others with love and respect; to plan for future generations; and to honor the wisdom of our elders. What we do today will be the cause to the effect in generations to come.
