When Patty isn’t doing her thing on stage at The Las Vegas Center for Spiritual Living or performing with rock legends, Patty finds joy in singing with her devoted husband, David, and accomplished pianist in his own right.
Our Music Director Patty Powers’ love for singing is eclipsed only by her appreciation for others who create music at the highest level. This is why if you were able to ask her about moments of extraordinary bliss and gratitude, she would include in the conversation working with her idol James Taylor, singing back-up for Barbara Streisand, and performing live with Steve Gadd and Tony Levin. Patty is accompanied by her husband David Marinelli every Sunday on Piano keyboard.
Dave’s approach to his art is simple: feel the groove; stay out of the way; and keep it real. This appreciation for what it takes to compliment his fellow musicians has been a vital part of Dave’s success, and the reason is there is nothing like playing a live gig with great players for him. It is where the feeling surrenders itself to the moment and becomes a part of a great collective magic. Exactly why he and Patty make such a great team to The Center’s music program.
