Dear Family,
I am still on a high from all the events that took place last week. It was quite a week! It began with me celebrating another year on this planet and I am so grateful to all that sent me love and birthday acknowledgements.
Friday night Rev Cheryl and I had a lovely sacred supper that included food, wine and spending time with some wonderful people that raised a little money for our Center. Saturday morning (even after too much wine and not enough sleep) gave me an opportunity to participate at Opportunity Village for our sixth World Day of Service Event and finale was Sunday Service.
What a Sunday it was! Rev Connie gave an entertaining talk about us each staying in integrity with the truth, our own Eugenio Torres performed a wonderful song for us for the first time here at our Center and we talked a little about Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year).
I feel so blessed to be a part of all of it. Our Center really is demonstrating our dedication to celebrating inclusivity. I am very proud of that. Therefore, this week we have more celebrating to do. For those of you that feel that it is too much please do not feel overwhelmed. Come and participate in those events that speak to you. Really, our goal is to reach out to the larger community and invite them in to our well-kept secret.
As Dr. Jim Lockard says in his book, Creating the Beloved Community, “The Beloved Community can exist within a larger spiritual community where some or even many are not part of the Beloved Community. It can be very difficult, especially in a spiritual community with hundreds or even thousands of members, to see the kind of commitment and the level of participation necessary to create the Beloved Community from everyone. However, it can consist of a subset of a larger spiritual community.”
So let us reach out to our beloveds outside of this amazing community and give more love and light to others so that we might go about creating a world that works for everyone.
Shana Tova Umetukah (A Good/Sweet Year) to all,
Namasté,
Rev Staci
