Dear Family and Friends,

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

-Matthew 18:3 King James Version 3

Rev. Dr. Kathianne Lewis, Spiritual Director of CSL Seattle, graciously gifts ministers the opportunity to sign up for a nightly inspirational message meant to support and uplift those who are open and willing to accept it. It really is a labor of love, and to be honest, I often don’t listen to the message until a day or two later.

But, as with all things, that which is for me gets to me at the right and perfect time. I happened to pick up this message this past Monday morning after being fairly busy with Center activities lately.

Before she shared the above-referenced quote, she touched on the fact that some people she was talking with were sharing that they are currently feeling burdened, not inspired, overwhelmed, etc. (fill in the blank). I am sure that we all get the picture here.

Kathianne brilliantly responded with the quote shared above and went on to say that children Play. They create, they laugh, connect, and learn through Play.

I am not sure what else was said in her message because immediately, my thoughts went to what we have been doing between trips to see plays together, bowling, bake sales, etc. We, as a community, have been playing. With Covid, most of us have not been able to be at Play with each other on the level we had been accustomed to.

This Center, at one time, was filled with classes, workshops, sacred suppers. We are just now getting back to being able to be with one another outside the time and space we share on Sundays. After getting home on Sunday afternoon, somewhere around 3 pm, it was a long day, yet it felt so rewarding.

Daniel Nahmod is a brother from another mother. If I had the gift and ability to write a song, his songs are what my heart and soul would write. His music reminded me of what once was and what is yet to be.

Although it has been an extraordinarily busy few weeks, my heart, mind, and soul feel as though they have entered the kingdom of heaven. Thank you to Dr. Kathianne, Daniel, and LVCSL for the love shared.

Let’s play on my friends and family! Let’s keep the music, the laughter, the love, and the connection moving further and further out to the world. God knows it needs it!

Thank you to those that are playing and praying with me and my sister Rev Cheryl and being the very best part of this Center.

Namasté,
Rev. Staci
