Dear Friends and Family,

As we continue with the theme of Diversity and Inclusion, there was exciting news with the announcement of Senator Kamala Harris being the first woman of color to be nominated on a major party.

This statement is not about politics! It is about a mental equivalent for women, particularly women of color that have never been afforded the opportunity that others have had. Yes, I am thrilled about the possibility of a new picture for our youth and for those that have passed on whose shoulders we stand on to know that all things are possible.

Women and Women of Color have not been invited to the playing field. Wow! My grandmothers would be so thrilled. There have been many days of late that I have found myself more than disappointed in the way in which this country seems to be going, but today is a day that I feel hopeful and proud.

I know that win or lose that this marks a new day for the United States of America. I stand in gratitude for this country, the election process, and each and everyone involved in the rebuilding of the US.

God Speed,
Rev Staci
