Dear Friends and Family,
How fitting it was to have a celebration of Peace together as a community, the day before Memorial Day. Thank you, Aldo, and all those who played a role in the service, for your contributions. Aldo also arranged a lovely lunch at a Filipino restaurant in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander month. On Friday afternoon, I went to the movies to see Michael, a film about Michael Jackson and his road to stardom. All in all, it was a good day and a good weekend that provided me with much to celebrate and a community to connect with.
As much as there is to celebrate and appreciate, there is a sadness that lies beneath the surface. We as a nation and a world are in more wars, more people are struggling financially, and there are more people creating a sense of separation and division. How do we move past all that we have created on this planet??? We can sit with it, be aware, and choose what role we have in creating a new reality, and then choose connection and community to heal our souls.
