ps for last sunday
Staci Hilton

Dear Family and Friends,

Thank you, Rev Frannie, for your message last Sunday. I am grateful for all the goings on last week, particularly bowling and being sponsored. We had a good time. It was a Fun…Fundraiser! I will probably do things a little differently before bowling regarding exercise, but all is well. Anyway, while streaming the service on Sunday, Rev Cheryl read from 64 Days of Non-Violence (March 23). Day 52, the reading was about Equity, and it said to find one way to connect with a person from another group today.

It went on to ask us to think about the difference between equality and Equity. Here is what came up on the internet, “While both equality and equity aim for fairness, equality means treating everyone the same, while equity recognizes that people have different needs and circumstances, requiring tailored support to achieve fairness.” One of my favorite things about Science of Mind is that it teaches that all of us are created from the One. That One power is Love, so there are no differences. Although we, as Religious Scientists, know that there is still much work to be done in treating people equitably.

Collective consciousness has placed and continues to put people at a disadvantage, and although we have the ability to rise above it we do. It should not be a constant battle. At some point, there is a responsibility to level the playing field so that all in this physical world experience the freedom that is their birthright in this physical world.

Peace and Blessings,
Rev Staci
