“Our dreams belong to us; they come full-blown out of the world in which we work and hope and carry on. They are not impostors. They are not foreign elements invading our world like some solitary comet from the outer reaches of space. No! Our dreams are our spirit, the vital part of us. They become for us the bearers of new possibility, the enlarged horizon, the great hope. Even as they romp among the stars they come back to their place in our lives, bringing with them the radiance of the far heights, the lofty regions, and giving to all our days the lift and the magic of the stars.” – Howard Thurman
Dear Family and Friends,
As Rev. Staci noted one’s vocation is not something out there at the edge of the horizon between now and not yet. Vocation is the Divine energy already and always at work within us.
This week, our focus was on a truism that Parker Palmer pointed us to when he said, “Before you tell your life what you intend to do with it, listen for what it intends to do with you. Before you tell your life what truths and values you have decided to live up to, let your life tell you what truths you embody, what values you represent.”
Each day is an opportunity to embark upon a personal journey to make meaning in the professional arena of life. Each one of us is on our own hero’s journey. Some of you probably think you are finished living, studying, and working. Dr. Ernest Holmes wrote the Science of Mind Textbook; however, he continued to study, work, and learn. If you haven’t already, find your Authentic swing!
