My prayer is that our beautiful nation begins anew as of a new President and vice president’s inauguration. By all appearances, that is the plan of our elected officials. It would be nice to begin a new chapter and turn the page from all the old that does not, has not ever, and will never work for all of the nation’s people. Yet, there is a lot that has to be revealed and uncovered so that we might transform and evolve into a new experience of freedom for all.

We must be willing to look at what is working in the system we have and what is not. We must be willing to start where we are, not where we wish we were or even thought we were. Our Government is not its own separate entity. What makes this nation so great is the fact that we are a democracy. Democracy literally means ruled by the people. It is up to each of us to know what is going on in the U.S. and stand up, show up and speak up for that which is not creating a world that works for all.

I am ready for the new and improved nation and embrace whole-heartedly being the land of the free. It aligns with everything that my ministry is, so I prepare to begin right here and right now where I sit.

I open my heart and mind and am ready to be the change that I wish to see in my country.
