Dear Family and Friends,

“When Jesus rode into Jerusalem on an ass, he knew that he was going to die on Friday. He did not flinch. He did not turn back. Jesus Christ knew that he was forever in the loving embrace of his divine origins. He surrendered his doubts and his fears, and so can we. Choose today to co-create your life with God. Choose today to live a life that is powered by Love, the same fearless Love that flowed through Jesus flows through you. Recognize it. Claim it. Spread it around; it multiplies upon contact. There is no shortage of good. There is a power in the Universe, greater than we are, and we can use it.” – Susanne Freeborn

Rev Wanda’s talk title last Sunday was, Dancing with the Donkey, and the title stems from the story of Jesus coming to terms with the end of life on this plane. The Donkey symbolizes peace, and so it is only fitting that the “Prince of Peace” would enter Jerusalem; Jerusalem means the City of Peace, and his vehicle would represent peace as opposed to a “warhorse.” Donkeys are also known to be stubborn and untrainable yet persistent and can endure rocky roads.

The message is clearly that we can endure any condition with the knowingness that the Divine Presence that created us is always with us. If we have a clear intention and focus and use the tools that we each have to move through this thing called life, we can demonstrate exactly that which we set out to do and be. Commit to what you want to be in this world, make sure that the vehicle and tools used to align with what you want to be, be prepared to wrestle or dance with your human feelings as they arise, and reach the destination of your goals in full glory. That is exactly what the story is about.

Just remember that Jesus said that the things he did, each of us can do, and even greater. So this is what the story is really designed to teach each of us.

Remember that we celebrate all paths, so Happy Holy Week! Happy Passover, Ramadan Mubarak, Happy Good Friday, and Happy Easter.

Namasté,
Rev. Staci
