A total eclipse occurs every one to three years around the globe. We began the week with the blessing of observing this amazing experience that will not happen again in the United States for twenty years. Unfortunately, my schedule didn’t allow me to witness the event; however, I turned on NPR and enjoyed hearing how those who witnessed the eclipse felt.

There was a collective feeling of awe at the magnificence and realization of oneness and a sense of community among those who were observers of the event. There was joy, laughter, and also tears. What a gift it was to hear others feel uplifted and lighter.

It is my hope that some will realize what the eclipse has to teach each one of us. Although we are not the Sun, we each are a beacon of light, and although sometimes things can temporarily block the light, we know that our job is to shine. We just keep shining and will make it through the darkness. Let’s all just keep doing our best to shine.

Peace and Blessings,
